The road to lifelong learning and commitment began on the 5^th of October which was a remarkable day for the newly hired teachers. The seminar started with a fervent prayer led by Master Teacher Ma’am Lilibeth F. Gaban followed by the singing of Makabayang Awit, ”Bayan Ko.” Also, she gave the Thought For Today that surely brood over. 

The newly hired teachers Ma’am Rosana E. Cadiz, Ma’am Jennifer R. Eugenio, Ma’am Rhea Mae A. Viernes, Ma’am Rowena P. Pagobo, Ma’am Rangie A. Gain, Ma’am Melowin B. Camus, Ma’am Eadie Helen L. Pelaez, Ma’am Leticia F. Requinala II, Ma’am Jasmin Q. Lopez, and Sir Cyril N. Lopez had pleasure to listen to the Principal Ma’am Lea M. Marcelo while she briefly discuss Module 1 regarding the following topics: (a) Mandate, Vision, Mission, Core Values (VMV) and Strategic Directions; (b) DepEd Organizational Structure and School Processes; (c) Teaching as a Profession and as a Vocation; (d) Philippine Professional Standards For Teachers (PPST); (e) Career Path Within the Department of Education; (f) Magna Carta for Public School Teachers; (g) Code of Ethics; (h) Results-based Performance Management System (RPMS); and (i) Salaries, Wages, and Benefits of Teachers. Since the enthusiastic teachers wanted to come prepared, they read and studied Module 1 ahead of time. That way, they understood the topics and were able to ask relevant questions which needed further explanation. Hence, the discussion was smooth sailing and productive. The Principal Ma’am Lea M. Marcelo briefly discussed each topic while the zealous teachers asked questions to further analyze each topic. Each one of them answered the pre-test, post-test and reflection. They realized that these basic knowledge serves as the key to becoming highly proficient teachers in no time. In conclusion, the core of being a public servant/teacher was inculcated not only in their minds but also in their hearts. That day was marked as the beginning of renewed perspectives and committed life to learning. As can be seen, they were eager to read and study the topics found in Module 2 which will surely open another room for improvement.
