Organized by the teachers, P. Villanueva Elementary School held their much-awaited astounding Graduation Day at the school ground on the 5th of April. The event was anchored with the theme, “Mag-aaral ng K to 12: Handa Sa Hamon Ng Buhay.” The program began with the astonishing processional of the guests, Congresswoman Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, Mayor Antonino Calixto, Principals, Mrs. Lea M. Marcelo and Ms. Corazon Salvador, Dr. Merlino M. Mateo the Special Education teachers, the lady guard Ms. Daisy the obedient front runners Mr. Mark and Mr. Jerry and the graduating students with their supportive parents. Each one of them had a chance to shine. This was followed by the entrance of colors, the singing of the National Anthem, and the Pasay Hymn. They were teary-eyed when the graduates sang their graduation song entitled, “Simulan Mo Sa Isang Pangarap” led by Ms. Jennifer Eugenio. Next part was the breath-taking receiving of diploma of each graduating students which symbolized their accomplishments. Also, it was a tangible proof that the students were able to fulfill the requirements in order to graduate. It was given to the graduates by the Principals Mrs. Lea M. Marcelo and Ms. Corazon Salvador together with the GPTA President Mrs. Gina Bautista. They were lucky to hear inspirational messages and promising laws to be implemented coming from honorable Mayor Antonino Calixto and honorable Congresswoman Imelda Calixto-Rubiano. Truly, they are doing everything in their power to support quality education for Pasayeños. Afterwards, awards and recognition was given to the outstanding students. It was visible to the faces of the dear parents how proud they were for their kids. Then, they heard the emotional Valedictorian speech of Keisha Moreyn S. Salarda. It was very much appreciated by her batchmates. Another inspirational message was given by Sec. Librado F. Torres. Later, the graduates had an oathtaking led by April Lienne M. Colarina. Another emotional event followed when the graduates surprisingly sang “Awit ni Inay” while giving their diplomas to their parents. It was followed by their graduation song entitled, “Ngayon Pa Lang Tagumpay Ka Na!” led by Mrs. Jay E. Bautista. The remarkable event ended with the exit of the colors and recessional.
Truly, elementary graduation brings with it a roller coaster of emotions for the graduates and their families. It’s a time of celebration and achievement. There is a reflection on past trials and successes. It sparks hope for the future and invites graduates to dream big.
